Autonomic Neurology
The Autonomic Neurology Clinic and Laboratory is located at Upstate Bone & Joint. This is the first Autonomic Clinic and Laboratory in Central New York to offer services for patients with autonomic disorders.
Patients with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Syncope, dizziness, orthostatic hypotension and small fiber neuropathy will be assessed for diagnosis and treatment. Autonomic nervous system disorders that are developed independently or as a result of another disease, such as Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, alcohol abuse or diabetes will also be evaluated at the Neuromuscular Center.
The Autonomic Laboratory is a state of the art facility that includes tilt table testing, Valsalva Maneuver and the ability to monitor heart rate response to deep breathing. It also includes Quantitative Sudomotor Axon Reflex Test (QSART) for evaluation of small fiber neuropathy. The lab provides comprehensive testing service for both adult and pediatric patients with dysautonomia.
