Systems and Cognitive Neuroscience
The Systems and Cognitive Neuroscience group studies the mechanisms and outcomes of neuronal function.
Topics of interest include:
- The encoding of visual information by the brain
- Functional properties of olfactory system function and perception
- Fetal and adolescent neuronal plasticity and its role in drug addiction
- Imaging studies of neurodevelopment in individuals with genetic or psychiatric disorders
- The molecular basis for dysfunction in neurological and psychiatric disease
- CNS and spinal cord injury
- Developmental models of fetal alcohol syndrome and autism
- The control of behavior by specific aspects of neuronal activity, and how disease manifests alterations in neuronal function.
